Another Weapon to Add to My Arsenal - I saw this book when I was searching the site for books on leadership and was very curious about its contents. I convinced myself to give it a try. After I ordered the book and read it in 2 days, I have definitely found a new arsenal of weapons that will help me accomplish any goal or objective in front of me. This was a really good book and I m recommending it to any one who wants a straight-forward, simplistic approach to getting things done and going after want you really want out of life.
I bought seventeen of these books for my sales staff! - I saw this book in my local bookstore and thought what s that guy so mad about. Then I picked it up and could not put it down. I have now read it three times, this is absolutely not a martial arts book. It s about how to get things done in your life. I REALLY enjoyed this book! There is so much value in this book that I decided to write a review for it. This book teaches you how to NEVER give up on yourself. I liked his book so much that I came here to buy seventeen copies for my sales staff! Check it out for yourself it will be worth your time.
Easy to read, easy to apply. Outstanding! - A book few could hope to match. Easy to read and just as easy to apply. After reading this book I have found new and easy tools to use for my success, whether I m in the gym working out or in the office preparing for a presentation. I literally flew through, from cover to cover.
Me, a warrior? - I first heard about this book on the NPR show, The Loh Life, by Sandra Tsing Loh. She s hilarious, and I love her stuff. She talked about how this middle-aged, out-of-shape group of her writer friends had found this book, were raving about it, and now were inspired to get things done like a Navy SEAL. The piece was so funny I just had to get a copy of this book-even though it s nothing like anything else on my bookshelf (does this guy look scary or what? ). After the first couple of pages I found myself really engaged by the story, because it s as if he s sitting down and just spinning a good yarn. The advice is so completely practical, and very precise. It never gets either too abstract or too mystical to be applicable to the kinds of things you find yourself up against every day. I d like to say that since I finished this book I ve become a millionaire, am perfect in all my relationships and finished the great American novel. Sorry, hasn t happened. But I do find myself being more conscious about the way I talk to myself and the fear I have-it s also easier to see these things working in other people. I ve decided my target is not to start anything new, but to finally finish all the things I ve never gotten around to completing. I thought it was a fun, quick read with advice you can take out and use immediately. (I d also recommend this book for teenagers, by the way.)
Shop the book or read the excerpt, I did. It was worth it! - I was feeling out of sorts and kind of directionless when a friend of mine suggested that I pick-up this book. I don t like self help books. I find them to be tedious and overbearing. I can never really relate to the experiences the authors convey and they always seem so, ra!ra! and cheerleader like. But, I needed to try something and my friend was pretty passionate about it. When I came to amazon.com I was very skeptical when I saw all of the glowing reviews (even though my friend recommended it, he liked war and soldier stuff). So I went to the local bookstore and sat down with a copy (I suggest to anyone who is hesitant that you do the same thing, they are in almost every bookstore) and it made an impression on me. That is when I came back here to buy it (the price is slightly better here).I found the material easy to relate to, which surprised me because I m not a military buff. The way he conveys his material is warm, clear and personal. He doesn t come off macho or intense but as sensitive and very honest about himself and his client s experiences. I really like the stories about his women clients (it helped me believe that I can apply what he is teaching).I thought that it was an easy, entertaining and informative read. It helps me prioritize my thinking and shows me how to stay on track. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is moving through life without a real purpose or clear meaning. My one knock on the book is that it left me wanting for deeper explanations. Sometimes you get so caught up in the stories you forget he s trying to teach you something. So I found that I had to go back and read a chapter or two again.
